Coal Analysis

Coal comes in four main types or ranks: lignite or brown coal, bituminous coal or black coal, anthracite and graphite. Each type of coal has a certain set of physical parameters which are mostly controlled by moisture, volatile content (in terms of aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbons) and carbon content.
Some markets require specific quality characteristics for the process in which the coal is used, and environmental regulations also require knowledge of a coal’s quality. Some products also require analysis of physical characteristics of coals for handling or processing

Facilities Available:

• Particle Size analysis of (0.5,0.25,0.125,0.625 )all in mm

• Proximate Analysis of Coal or Determination A fixed Carbon in Coal

• Gross Calorific value of Coal Enubilated (at 40° C & 60% RH Basis)

• Sampling from Truck and ash determination

• Sampling from wagon top and ash determination of Proximate and Gross Calorific Value

• Sampling from wagon top and determination of ash Percentage
